888Poker is running Super Stack Live Event qualifiers around the clock, starting from as little as $1.35.

Super Stack Live Event qualifiers are NOT all-inclusive so unlike most live poker event packages, you are only playing for the tournament buy-in. It’s up to you to arrange for travel and accommodation but the idea really is to find a Super Stack Live Event close to home, and that way you get the benefit of a main event poker tournament seat at a fraction of the true cost. Host locations are: London (London Mint Casino); Birmingham (Circus Casino); Melbourne (Crown Casino); Montreal (Playground Poker Club); Spain (Casino Gran Madrid); and Ireland (tbd).

The next Super Stack Live Event is taking place in Montreal in November, so you’ve got loads of time to qualify, but don’t leave it to the last minute.

If you prefer to just show up and pay the full price, you are welcome to do so of course. Tournament entry for direct buy-in is £165/AUD $300 or CAD $185/€165.

There are also weekly Live Event qualifiers running for $10 + $1, with a minimum of 3 Super Stack Event poker tournament entries guaranteed to be awarded. Each locale has a separate qualifier, so there is one running just about every day of the week. As mentioned, there are also $1.35 sub-qualifiers available which feed into the weekly qualifiers, running around the clock. You can choose the $11 qualifier you wish to play in once you are successful.

Before you hit the felt at 888Poker, don’t forget to check out our exclusive poker bonus offer. Earn a bonus of up to $400 just for playing the same poker games and tournaments you would normally play.

A 1-year anniversary just passed, but it’s not one you will likely want to celebrate. On April 15, 2011, the Department of Justice seized the domain names of several prominent online poker sites which were still catering to US poker players, including the co-largest poker site in the world at the time – Full Tilt Poker.

One year later, most of us are still astounded at what happened – and more specifically what still hasn’t happened – namely the repayment of players around the world who had money deposited at Full Tilt Poker.

In between there have been plenty of rumours, lots of legal wrangling and posturing, and plenty of finger-pointing, but very little in the way of a concrete plan has emerged to re-establish whatever is left of the Full Tilt Poker brand name, and allow poker players access to their frozen funds. Until now.

With the announcement of the recent exit of Groupe Bernard Tapie as a possible buyer for the company, comes telling information suggesting that Poker Stars might be very close to a deal that would pay out all affected former Full Tilt players.

We’re not about to get our hopes up too much after all this time, however reports indicate that, should the Poker Stars negotiation be successful, the Department of Justice will agree to pay out all US players 100% of their Full Tilt balances, and Poker Stars will do the same for players in the rest of the world. The suggested price tag on the transaction is estimated to be about $750 million (approximately $300 million of which is owed to players).

Although this would be fantastic news for all poker players, one has to wonder why Poker Stars would want to make this investment, or more specifically, what’s in it for them?

The best guess is that in completing such a deal, Poker Stars would be given favored status regarding any future legislation changes in the US market. In other words, they want to be the first legal online poker site for US players if and when they are allowed back at online tables, and they are willing to pay now for those “rights”.

That should be more than enough enticement to secure a Full Tilt Poker deal, but there’s still no guarantee. Nonetheless, after over a year of virtually no progress, this is the most positive development to date.

One of the terms you will often hear to describe the potential value of a poker bonus is the clearance rate.

As a rough definition, the clearance rate is the rate of return in bonus money that you get on the amount of rake and/or fees you pay at poker tables.

The clearance rate is expressed as a percentage, with 0% being the worst – i.e., you would not be getting any return. Clearance rates for our poker bonuses range between 10% – 75%. Naturally, the higher the clearance rate, the better the poker bonus is for the player.

We strive to provide our poker players with the clearance rates for all our PokerBonuses offers, so players know exactly what to expect, and so that you can compare the different poker bonuses available.

Think of it this way: if you are working on a poker bonus that has a 50% clearance rate, it means that for every $1/£1/€1 you contribute in rake or fees, you will receive 50% back in bonus payments, or 50 cents on the dollar/pound/euro.

There are 2 things you need to know in order to calculate the clearance rate: 1) the rate at which player points are earned (points are earned according to how much rake and fees you pay), and 2) the rate at which the poker bonus is paid out.

To illustrate with an actual example, we’ll use our amazing (if we do say so ourselves) Winner.com Poker bonus offer.

When you sign up at Winner.com Poker using our exclusive offer, you will earn $1 of bonus money for every 25 Winner Points (their version of player points) generated. Players at Winner.com earn 18 Winner Points for every $1 of tournament fees paid. The clearance rate is therefore calculate as follows:

$1/25 Winner Points X 18 WP/$1 = 18/25 = 0.72 or 72%.

So for every $1/£1/€1 of fees you pay at Winner.com tournaments, you will receive 72 cents back in cash bonuses. That’s not even including the additional value you will get from you Winner Points, which can be converted for even more cash and bonuses in the Winner.com Poker store!

The Sit and Go Challenge promotion has been re-launched at Chili Poker starting this May. Play in just 40 SNGs before the end of the month, and earn a share the $5,000 monthly prize pool.

The Sit and Go Challenge is an endurance contest that also ranks players according to how well they do in each SNG tournament, determined by your Return on Investment (ROI). ROI is the average return you get from playing in a SNG tournament, expressed as a percentage. So, if you average $11 in winnings for every $10 you spend on SNGs, your ROI is 10 percent or ($11 – $10)/$10 X 100 percent.

You can also earn bonus ROI points playing more than 40 SNGs. Players earn a 2.5 percent ROI bonus for every 10 SNGs played from 50 through 100. And if you play 150 and 250 SNGs, you will receive additional ROI bonuses.

There will be 3 leaderboards for the Sit and Go Challenge for all player stakes preferences:

Cooper – $0.12 to $1.20 SNGs

Gold – $2.20 to $11 SNGs

Diamond – $22+ SNGs

The Copper division will award the Top 30 players with a 1st place prize of $250. The Gold division will award the Top 30 finishers with a 1st place prize of $500 and the Diamond division will award just the Top 6 places as follows: 1st – $700; 2nd – $550; 3rd – $350; 4th – $200; 5th – $100 and 6th – $75.

We have three great ChiliPoker sign-up poker bonus offers for you to choose from. Each one has slightly different deposit and playing requirements, allowing you to choose the bonus that best fits your game.
