If you are playing online poker, chances are you have a PokerStars account, even if you prefer to play on other sites. While PokerStars is unfortunately not very big on giving reload bonuses, they are the place to play 24/7 when you can’t find a game anywhere else. But what you might not realize is there is a cumulative bonus that runs the entire year called VIP Stellar Rewards which allows you to earn up to $1,200 for reaching certain playing requirements.

VIP Stellar Rewards are set up such that, each time you reach a milestone you can ‘purchase’ a cash reward. Rewards are determined by how many VIP Player Points you earn while playing at cash game tables and tournaments.

VIP Stellar Rewards are calculated automatically starting January 1st of each year. If you go the Cashier in the PokerStars lobby, you will see a button for VIP Stellar Rewards, which will show you the progress on the current level you are at. The first level starts a 750 VPPs for which you will receive $10 cash. The number of VPPs needed for each level and how much cash you earn goes up progressively. There are 20 levels in all, and if you can earn 100,000 VPPs by December 31st you will received $1,200 in total cash bonuses.

Each time you reach a new VIP Stellar Rewards level, you simply go the VIP Store and “purchase” your reward (if you have missed one, don’t worry – they do not expire and you can simply buy them all at any point prior to December 31st). You are charged 1 VPP for converting each award to cash. See the full list of rewards below.

If you haven’t signed up with PokerStars, our $600 poker bonus for new players is one of our all-time favorites. The good news is that we offer a rate of $1 for every 17 VPPs earned, compared with the standard PokerStars rate of $1 per 20 VPPs.

For those who think you have to play high stakes poker to get in on a bad beat jackpot, think again. Fortune Poker has just introduced bad beat jackpots on micro tables with blinds as low as €0.05/€0.10. That means that for as little as a €2 buy-in you could take home a huge payday.

In order to win a bad beat jackpot, you want to have a really great hand… which gets beaten by an even better great hand. To qualify for a share of the bad beat jackpot, you must be seated at the table and dealt cards in the bad beat hand. That’s it. Of course, in order to earn a big piece of the bad beat jackpot, you want to be either the player who wins the pot or, preferably, the player who loses the pot in a showdown.

The minimum qualification for the Fortune Poker bad beat jackpot is Four 2s. That means you have to make a hand of 2222X or better, using both your hole cards. In the case of a 4 of a Kind hand, your hole cards must be a pair, so in this case you must have “22” in your hand. The hand also has to be beaten, so obviously you need an opponent to catch Four 3s or better – hey, nobody said it was going to be easy.

Once a bad beat jackpot hand is verified all the players involved in the hand get a share of the jackpot. The payouts are as follows:

Losing Hand: 50%

Winning Hand: 25%

All other players dealt cards on that table split: 25%

The bad beat jackpot builds every hand until it is won. 2 cents is collected from every raked pot and added to the cumulative jackpot. When a bad beat jackpot hand occurs, 70% of the current prize pool is distributed as above, 20% is used to seed the next jackpot, and 10% goes to the house (a bit unfortunate, but the reality is the house has not made any money off the contributions so they are entitled to a cut).

Look for the specially marked tables in the lobby. Bad beat jackpot tables start with “Micro BBJ2 TH XXX”.

Don’t forget to check out our Fortune Poker sign up poker bonus. If you haven’t played at Fortune Poker, it’s the best way to get a good portion of your rake and fees back, with no cost to you whatsoever.

eWallet is the term used for online or virtual companies which act as brokers or banks. Once you have loaded money into an eWallet, you can move the funds to and from poker sites with the click of a button or two. The biggest advantage is that you can cash out money back to the eWallet at no charge (there should never be any charges for making a deposit to a poker site no matter what method you use).

At one time, there were many large players in the eWallet game, with Neteller being the largest. Following the US gaming law changes in 2006, Neteller ceased to allow North American customers to use their services for poker sites, however, Neteller is still widely used and accepted in the UK and other parts of the world. However their fee structure is not favourable and you have to go through some hoops to get them to send you your money.

MoneyBookers, recently rebranded as Skrill, is now the biggest player on the eWallet market, as they allow poker transactions from players around the world (except for US players, who are pretty much on their own when it comes to withdrawal methods).

The beauty with MoneyBookers is that they allow you to set up accounts in your local currency, and also convert foreign currencies at a reasonable exchange rate. They also have very reasonable fees for withdrawing funds, usually less than $5 (€3) for cheques, and a bit more for wire transfers. It does take a few steps to get your account set up, and they will ask for plenty of information from you, but they are legitimate and this all part of their security procedures (i.e., for your own protection as they say…).

More importantly, MoneyBookers/Skrill is accepted by virtually every online poker site in the industry today, meaning you can recycle your funds and deposit and withdraw at many different sites to take advantage of various poker bonus offers, without ever having to find alternate payment methods.

What you ideally want to do is set up your poker accounts in the same currency as your MoneyBookers account. That way, you avoid any conversion fees when you are moving money back and forth. If necessary, your local currency will be exchanged for you when you sit down at a cash game poker table or tournament at the fair exchange rate, and reversed at the same rate when you leave the table, and this is exactly what you want.

It costs nothing to open a MoneyBookers/Skrill account – the only fees you will pay are the ones charged by your credit card company the first time you load your account. Unfortunately, you can’t use existing poker winnings to fund your account – you can only withdraw from sites you’ve previously made a MoneyBookers deposit on). If you have money in a poker site account, simply make a minimum MoneyBookers deposit ($20 or €10 usually) and then you can withdraw all your funds back to your MoneyBookers account.

There were already plenty of reasons to try out Gnuf Poker, but now there are 6,000 more. All new poker players are entitled to €6,000 worth of Freeroll entries as soon as they make their first deposit.

Once you’ve registered with Gnuf Poker and made your first deposit you’ll be eligible to play in up to 12 freerolls with over €6,000 in guaranteed prize pools. That of course, is in addition to the 200% up to $750 poker bonus that you receive from us simply for signing up through our links.

There are two types of Freeroll you can enter and you will receive 12 tickets in total 6 for each kind. Here are the details on the freerolls you can enter.

€500 New Player Freeroll

Date: Every Wednesday

Time: 19:30 CET

Buy-in: Free

Prize pool: €500

€500 Added New Player Turbo

Date: Every Wednesday

Time: 22:00 CET

Buy-in: €1 + 0.10

Prize pool: €500 added

So in other words you get access to 6 new player freerolls, as well as €6 + €0.60 of entries for
6 additional €500 guaranteed tourneys, a very nice deal indeed.

Gnuf Poker recently teamed up with the Betway Group, however they are keeping their poker
sites separate on the Microgaming network. They offer what they call Loyalty Points which are earned for player contributions of rake at cash game tables and tournament fees in multi-table or sit-and-go tournaments. For every $1 of contributed rake or fees, players earn 10 Loyalty Points.

In addition to being able to exchange your Loyalty Points for cash, they are also used to pay
your bonus, at the rate of 100 Loyalty Points per $1.

Poker770 is offering all its players the opportunity to combine their poker skills with the European football knowledge, with over $5,000 in prizes up for grabs.

The European Football League promotion starts on Februrary 12th and continues through May 18th, and every Champions League match that takes place in real life will give players the opportunity to improve their chances. Here’s how it works:

Every day there is a football match, there will be a corresponding European Football League
tournament on Poker770. Each tournament costs just $1.10 to enter. While you register for the tournament you will be asked to pick the winner of the live football match. Finish in the Top 20 of the poker tournament, and you will earn points towards the European Football League leaderboard, as well as the

Sit N Go fans take note. Back by popular demand, the Sit N Go Volume promotion returns to Winner.com Poker this month with 6 races and $3,750 up for grabs.

Unlike many leaderboard promotions, your Sit N Go Volume stats are easy to keep track of, as it is based only on how much money you win playing qualifying Sit N Go tournaments. All Sit N Go tourneys consisting of 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 18 and 20 players are included in this promotion. Double up, Triple up and One Hand Sit ‘N’ Go tournaments do not count. Play as many as you can to pile up your winnings. If you don’t place in a Sit N Go tournament, it simply counts as a “0”, so there are no negative winnings to be concerned about.

There will be 3 separate races in February, with two categories: $1 – $5 buy-ins; and $10+ buy-ins. Technically, you can play in both categories, but in order to improve your changes (and your winnings) you should probably just stick to one. Each race is 6 days long. The race dates are:

Race 1 – February 9 – 14

Race 2 – February 16 – 21

Race 3 – February 23 – 28

The low stakes weekly prize pool is $250 – Top 20 paid: prizes range from $1.25 for 20th to $62.50 for 1st place each week. The high stakes category prizes are $1,000 per week – Top 20 paid: prizes range from $5 (20th) to $250 for the Top finisher.

Plus, don’t forget Winner.com has one of the top clearance rates of all our poker bonus offers. If you are playing Sit N Go tournaments, you will earn back over 68% of your tournaments fees, simply by signing up for our no obligation, no cost sign-up bonus.

Sun Poker is taking the wraps off a brand new exclusive promotion this month called the Eliminator Challenge which will of special interest to our grinders and bonus hunters, regardless of whether you play cash games or tournaments.

The Eliminator Challenge is a game of survival. Starting on February 13th, you will need to meet either the cash game OR tournament/SNG criteria in order to move on. All players who survive to the next day need to meet the requirements all over again. The competition will run until there is just one player left standing, or until the end of the month. At that point the prizes will be distributed to whoever is left alive. If you fail to meet the criteria on any single day, you will be eliminated.

In order to continue in the Eliminator Challenge you will need to play either:

250 raked hands; or

15 multi-table tournaments or 15 Sit and Go tournaments (combined, 15 total tournaments)

That’s it. As long as you are playing for real money you can play at any stakes level you like. Just remember in cash games, the pot must be raked at least a penny.

What are you playing for? Because the Eliminator Tournament is starting half-way through the month (Feb 13th) the first month’s prize pool will be $500. However, Sun Poker has indicated that the prize pool will rise every month if this competition takes off, so be sure to hit the tables and try to outlast the
pack.

And don’t forget our exclusive PokerBonuses Sun Poker sign-up poker bonus. It’s the best deal you’ll find anywhere.
