Gold Cards:

2010, February 25

The Cake Poker Network has created 260,000 Gold Cards, which will be given away at real money ring games. The Gold Cards are randomly drawn whenever a real money table has generated the required amount of rake. Cake Poker has not indicated how much rake it takes. The higher stakes that you play, the more often your table will receive a Gold Card. When a Gold Card is awarded to the table, it will be randomly given to a player at the table who was dealt cards. The higher the rank of the Gold Card, the more difficult it is to receive. For example, a "2" will be given away anywhere from 1 in 7 to 1 in 10 times a Gold Card is issued, whereas an "A" will be given away anywhere from 1 in 12,500 (Ace of Clubs) to 1 in 5,000,000 (Ace of Spades) a Gold Card is issued.

Every day, the network will announce a Gold Card Daily Lottery. The lottery will allow players who have the winning Gold Cards in their collection to redeem them for cash or tickets to exclusive tournaments. A Monthly Gold Card prize is also announced on the 1st of the month. Like the daily lottery, you will need to match all the cards in the prize hand that are in your personal collection to collect the prize. Players can either win the prize immediately (if they hold the necessary cards) or collect the cards during the month. Prizes for the monthly prize hand range from $500-$2000.

In addition to the Lottery, there are fixed prizes that are always available for you to redeem your Series 5 Gold Cards. As an alternative, players can choose to hold on to their Gold Cards and try to redeem them for large Series 5 Guaranteed Prizes, including the $52,000 Gold Card Jackpot, which can be earned either by collecting all 52 Gold Cards in the deck or be awarded to the player with the most unique Series 5 Gold Cards 30 days after the last Series 5 Gold Card is released.

Gold Cards can also be used for freeroll entries.

Gold Spree:

2010, February 23

During the month of February, Cake Poker will be running their "Gold Spree" promotion, which will allow players to receive up to 300% more Gold Chips for their play during the second part of the month. To get started, players must log on to the Cake Poker client on January 31st or after and view their personalized FPP goal. Prizes will be based on how much the player either meets or exceeds the FPP goal for play from February 1st to February 14th. The extra Gold Chips will then be awarded for play from February 15th to February 28th.

Prizes will be based on the following levels of FPP accumulation from February 1st to February 14th:

Hit Your FPP goal and receive an entry to a $25,0000 Kamikaze tournament, a form of a NL Shootout on February 17th.
Achieve 25% over your goal and receive a 50% bonus on Gold Chips earned from February 15th to February 28th.
Achieve 50% over your goal and receive a 100% bonus on Gold Chips earned from February 15th to February 28th.
Achieve 75% over your goal and receive a 200% bonus on Gold Chips earned from February 15th to February 28th.

Freeroll into Millions:

Cake Poker and other sites on the Cake Poker Network are offering players a chance to "Freeroll into Millions" giving players free opportunities to win money/prizes via freerolls at Cake Poker.

Freeroll into Millions Gold Chip Giveaway: Monday through Saturday, Cake Poker will be offering tournaments with 200 Gold Chips as the prize pool. Gold Chips can be used to enter other tournaments or use in the store.

Freeroll into Millions $250k Satellite: Monday through Saturday, Cake Poker will be offering this tournament with 2 seats to the Freeroll into Millions $250k Semi Final held on Saturdays at 3 PM ET. Players can buy-in directly to the $250k Semi Final for 37+3. One seat will be awarded to Cake's $250,000 guaranteed ($250+18) for every $268 in the prize pool

Gold Chip Reward Program:

The FPPs that you earn while playing at Cake Poker are automatically redeemed for Gold Chips. To earn Gold Chips you must earn a certain number of FPPs in a calendar month and the more points you earn the easier it is to earn Gold Chips. Gold Chips can also be earned for the "Stacks Reward Program," although these extra Gold Chips are not accounted for in the hourly rates to the right.

1st Gold Chip- 120 FPPs
2nd Gold Chip- 115 FPPs
3rd Gold Chip- 105 FPPs
4th Gold Chip- 90 FPPs
5th Gold Chip- 70 FPPs, you will also earn a bonus Gold Chip (available once a month)
6th+ Gold Chips- 70 FPPs

You can redeem your Gold Chips for "Gold Chip Giveaways" tournaments, which have various overlay amounts. For example, on the first Saturday of the month a $10,000 freerolls will be offered in which 50 Gold Chips must be used to buy-in. On the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month 10 Gold Chips can be used to buy-in to a $3,000 tournament.

In addition, Cake Poker has a store in which players can redeem their Gold Chips at rate of $0.17 per Gold Chip ($0.00252 per FPP based on the 70 per GC rate).

Gold Stack Rewards:

The Cake Poker Network has introduced a "Gold Stack Rewards" program that works in conjunction with earning Gold Chips. This program is addition to rakeback and other promotions that are available. There are 50 Levels of the program. To achieve each level, players must earn Gold Chips to accumulate Stacks. When completing a stack within a level, a prize will be awarded. Once the specified Stacks are earned, players will move up a level. Players must earn 3 Gold Chips in two consecutive months to maintain level. In the top 10 levels, players will never move down.

All prizes are paid automatically. If you earn a stack within a designated period of time you will receive a Turbo (0-3 days) or "Super Turbo" Prize which will be larger than the "guaranteed prize." Time frames are reset every time a new stack is completed. Levels 10-19 award bonuses, which require players to clear them at the standard rate. If you are consistenly playing this is not a big deal since you are also earning Gold Chips towards the next stack.
