The Nations Cup is a contest to determine which country is truly the best poker playing nation. By playing in tournaments with buy-ins between $1 and $22, players earn leaderboard points which are also added cumulatively with their countrymen’s (or countrywomen’s) scores to provide a nation total. Following the conclusion of the competition, $50,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the top players from each country.
There is no requirement to register for the Nations Cup. You automatically participate in this promotion every time you play a regularly scheduled multi-table tournament with a buy-in between $1 and $22. To become a champion you need to earn points, which you will receive for placing well in individual tournaments. There is a complicated formula that awards points based on: the buy-in amount, the size of the field, and how well you place. Suffice to say that the better you do in each tournament, the more leaderboard points you will accumulate. Every week, your top 7 tournament results will count towards the Leaderboard rankings. Your total score will be the sum of all weekly scores. There is just one full week left, so be sure to play in as many tourneys as you can.
